Google to Power LA28 Olympics with AI and Cloud Tools

Alphabet's Google has secured a pivotal role as the official cloud and AI provider for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The partnership, which includes support for Team USA and NBCUniversal's U.S. coverage, will leverage Google Cloud's infrastructure and AI capabilities, including the Gemini model and enhanced Search features like "AI Mode."

The collaboration aims to streamline event operations and elevate viewer engagement through real-time updates, personalized content, and improved accessibility. LA28 chairperson Casey Wasserman emphasized the goal of delivering a technologically advanced experience, while Google's Marvin Chow highlighted the potential for more interactive broadcasts.

YouTube, another Alphabet subsidiary, will host Olympic-related content, further expanding the digital footprint of the event. The integration of Google's tools with NBCUniversal's production is expected to set a new standard for large-scale sporting broadcasts.
